Macau
After summing up the numbers, it is visible that May was the 24th consecutive month of decline, with the shrink in the gambling industry equal 9.6%.

Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau has released figures that show that the Chinese province accrued revenues of 18.4 billion patacas (€2.1 billion/$2.3 billion) in May.

The presented figures has appeared to be even worse than the ones that many analysts had predicted. According to Shanghai Daily newspaper. the analysts made expectations of a fall equal around 7%.

Currently, revenues gathered monthly, are equal around half of what was present two years ago, when the authorities in China started incorporating the anti-corruption campaign. Another major impact, that is said to be linked to the decline is the slowing economic growth that can be observed in the region.

Nevertheless, it has been observed that the intensity of the decline seems to soften in time, as the revenues fell by more than 30% in 2015.

“Long-term, we believe Macau can capitalize on the rising Chinese demand for holiday leisure travel,” Vitaly Umansky, analyst at Bernstein in Hong Kong, told the Shanghai Daily.
