I've just read at Casinomeister site that 40 of Playtech licensees put arbitrary withdrawal limits on their progressive wins.

"At press time (29 January 2023) Spam-a-lot slots is listed at $2,062,439. If you were to win this progressive jackpot at europacasino.com (or any of the 40 Playtech casinos listed here), it would take 20 years to pay out at $9K a month."

And I've heard that Playtech did absolutely nothing about that!!! Imagine winning a progressive jackpot and not being able to withdraw it... :angry:

I can't undrestand why they do such things! A progressive win does not affect the casino's funds, since progressive games' jackpots are pooled via each operator who is a member of their networked progressive games. So it's not only the casino's money and they won't go bankrupt for allowing players to withdraw it!
The jackpot amount has been pooled from other casinos linked to that progressive jackpot, so players should have the possibility to withdraw it! I can't believe Playtech allows for that! :blink:

I didn't know about that :ohmy: I play at Winner very often and I didn't know that they wouldn't allow me to withdraw my winnings if I won the progressive jackpot :ohmy: I think I'll start looking for a better place to play Playtech games!

When I read this post I couldn't believe my favourite casino would do such things, so I read Winner's Terms and Conditions and found the following:

8.4.4 You are aware of and agree for the following withdrawal policy:
While there is NO LIMIT to the amount a Player can cash out from the Casino, there is a maximum amount that can be withdrawn at one time, in any 30 days period based on the following category:
(i) For United Kingdom residents:
-Upon receipt of a withdrawal request a maximum of £10,000 will be processed after 4 business days.
-A maximum of £40,000 will be processed 10 business days after the initial 4 business days.
-Withdrawals will be processed up to a maximum of £50,000 in any 30 days period.
(i) For non UK residents:
At present, the maximum amount (the "Maximum") is set at 9000 GBP, USD, EUR, CAD, AUD or 50,000 DKK, SEK, NOK, ZAR, in any 30 days period.
If the amount to be withdrawn is greater than what is permitted, the amount in excess of the maximum will be returned to the player's account, allowing the player to withdraw additional funds when it is next permitted in accordance with this term.
The foregoing applies also to Withdrawals of progressive jackpots. Withdrawals depend on all conditions specified above and the verification of all required documents as set forth in clause 9.4 below.

and now I'm so angry that I'm thinking of closing my account there... :angry:

I've heard that there was a situation in 2009 where a player had won over $4.4 million playing at Joyland Casino. The casino had a withdrawal limit of $9,000 per month and they applied this to the lucky winner's progressive jackpot winnings. In other words, withdrawing $4.4 million would have taken about 39 years! But the worst thing is that they offered that player a deal - the player would be able to withdraw a bigger amount, but only if he/she agreed to receive only half of the jackpot winning. I've heard that the player didn't know any better and accepted the deal and the casino kept the rest of the jackpot amount! It's outrageous, isn't it?

If I were in that player's shoes, I would call their licensing authority and report the case - they should force the casino to pay out the whole amount!

And I have a piece of advice for all of you: if an online casino does everything not to allow you to withdraw your winnings, you shouldn't play there!

If I won a progressive jackpot and the casino wouldn't allow me to withdraw it at once, I would go to the police! When you win at an online casino it's your money - they can't take it! I can't understand why Playtech didn't react to that...

They must have known! This means that Playtech doesn't really care about players... They shound force those casinos to change their terms and conditions and allow players to withdraw the whole amount of jackpot win!

I don't know what all the fuss is about. Have you ever won a progressive jackpot? No? Any other jackpot? Still no? So what are you complaining about? Most probably you will never win that jackpot, so this is not your problem... I like many of these casinos and I'm not going to give up playing there, just because they have withdrawal limits.
