Deal or No Deal Bingo licensing agreement renewed by Endemol Games and Playtech

The world’s leading Omni-channel gaming software provider Playtech has revealed an extensive strategic plan to improve its market share of the IP-based casual games market.

The realization of the acquisition of Funtactix, an award winning developer of TV and online casino games based on movie, was the stimulus to start.

Funtactix has a great reputation in Hollywood and mainly it comes from providing a unique casual game experience based on some of the most famous entertainment franchises including Rocky, Power Rangers, Mission: Impossible and The Hunger Games.

The finalization of the acquisition forms Playtech’s central pillar of the company’s casual games strategy which began with the creation of development studio Plamee in 2014 and continued with the acquisition of Game Maker: Studio developer and Yoyo Games in 2015.

Established in 2006, Funtactix has led the rebirth of film-based gaming across casual platforms. With the unveiling of the FTX Gaming division last year, the firm expanded its capabilities to publish numerous major games like slot machines and fulfil its goal of uniting top-notch developers with best-in-class entertainment properties.

Funtactix has a team of big fish in the industry that have great experience of launching a lot of online slots for many of the leading publishers in the games industry, including Sony, Ubisoft, Microsoft, LucasArt and the biggest names like MGM and WME.

As part of Playtech, the company will continue to enable collaborations with leading entertainment property owners. It also aims to publish their own and highly advanced titles under the FTX Games publishing division. The company’s team pays attention to build FTX Games as a leading publisher of IP-based games, supported by Playtech’s impressive game development resources.

Further details of development projects as part of this partnerships will be presented in the nearest announcements of upcoming separate titles.

COO of Playtech, Shimon Akad, said: “The Playtech casual games division has a clear strategy and direction and we’re very confident it will continue to go from strength-to-strength.

“The acquisition of Funtactix, in addition to Plamee and YoYo Games, enables us to offer a complete suite of content and software to players, designers and third parties including some of the largest studios and brands in the world.”
