Casinos Austria
Casinos Austria and Austrian Lotteries Group has posted promising results for the first half of 2023.

The good results are mainly an outcome of a clear growth of 12 Austrian domestic casinos as well as the online platform called win2day. Lasting great performance of lottery games and improvement in results at Casinos Austrisa contributed as well.

Director general Karl Stoss confirmed in a press statement: “Clear growth in sales was achieved in many areas and with excellent results for all group companies and segments, we are confident that we will close the 2023 business year with record sales and profits. These results can be attributed to the fact that we have clearly made the right investments in our casinos and products in the past months, that we have improved our gastronomy portfolio and that we are also reaching a larger online community with our increasingly mobile gaming offer”.

The twelve domestic casinos have greatly improved on their already high performance in 2015. The casinos noted an increase in revenue and number of the guests. At the beginning of 2023 the casinos reported an increase of 8%, reaching over €155mln. The increase was a result of 1,444,353 guests visiting casinos from January till June 2023, which is 6,5% more than the previous year. The twelve casinos have also confirmed the growth in relevance, as they are now one of the main tourist destination points in Austria. During the last 18 months more than 50% of the guests coming to the casinos was from abroad.

The group has informed that it is planning to invest €36mln in its domestic casinos. The company plans to replace over 1000 slot machines of its 2100 currently available. There are also plans to re-launch Casino Graz and redesign its restaurant. Further investments in Casino Salzburg are also planed through out the year.
