Bingo History

Bingo is a game of chance in which players match randomly drawn numbers with numbers on pre-printed 5×5 matrices. Usually, the game is concluded when the first person obtains a specific pattern from the drawn numbers, at which point they are required to shout „Bingo!”. Contemporarily the number of Bingo variations has grown exponentially and the different patterns that can be used to play are almost unlimited.

In comparison to 5×5 card U.K. and Australia consist of three lines and nine columns. They come in books containing ten pages with 10 cards, each of a different colour: Violet, Yellow, Pink, Grey, Orange, Blue, Red and White, Gold, Lime. Sometimes they are also sold as „Flyers” - single sheets containing 6 cards.

Thanks to advancing technology bingo has become popular as a game played on handheld bingo computers. Such devices have tracking mechanisms that make sure that players will not miss a bingo, even if they play with multiple cards. Using this device, players enter the numbers called by the caller and the computer automatically checks and marks all the cards with this number.
