If you’ve ever read Marvel comic books, you will recognize the name Elektra. Yes, this is a hot and deadly woman in red clothes, wielding a pair of bladed sai as her trademark weapon. Would you like to meet her? Now you have an opportunity to join her and fight with criminals,  because Elektra, the popular super hero of Marvel comic books, was brought on the reels by Playtech.

“Elektra” is a 5-reel, 20-payline slot created by Playtech. The game has great graphics and animations. The symbols on the reels are taken from the comic book and include Elektra and various weapons and paraphernalia used by her. Among them are Elektra’s favorite sword-like twin sais, as well as shuriken (star-shaped throwing discs) and a bow. There are also an arm band and a pendant, which was a family heirloom given to Elektra by her dying mother. High value card symbols from Ace to Nine, styled after Japanese characters, are also used as symbols. Most of the symbols exhibit animation when included in a winning combination, for example, the bow releases an arrow and the Shuriken rotates at great speed. Unfortunately there is no background music in the main game, only the Free Spins mode has a pulsating martial background tune. 

However, “Elektra” wouldn’t be so popular if the game didn’t have so entertaining special features, which include Wilds, Scatters and Free Spins with multipliers. 

The Elektra herself is the Wild symbol and can only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. It will substitute  for all other symbols excluding the Scatter. 

The Elektra Logo is the Scatter symbol and pays out Scatter wins when two or more Elektra Logo symbols appear anywhere on the reels. This symbol also triggers the Weapons Bonus round if three Scatters appear anywhere on the reels. You will be awarded a number of Free Spins depending on your choice of weapon. The sais offer 10 Free Spins, the shuriken offers 14 Free Spins with doubled payouts and the bow offers 7 Free Spins with a 4x multiplier. During this feature the two weapons not chosen will be replaced with the weapon you have chosen. So which one would you chose? During the Free Spins feature the Wild symbol will expand to fill whichever reel it appears on.

As this is a Marvel slot “Elektra” is linked to the four level Marvel Mystery progressive jackpot. Wagering on any of the games based on Marvel comic books increases the value of the jackpot. Although the jackpot is triggered randomly, larger wagers increase the chance to hit it. Once you activate the jackpot, the screen will display a 4 x 5 grid with symbols of the four jackpot levels hidden under each of the squares of the grid. “Elektra” is an exciting slot game with great graphics and animations, good special features and the progressive jackpot.
